New album "The Arsonist" out June 27th 2025!

As we all know, good music is also a question of sound. And for that – in addition to the right equipment, of course – the human factor is crucial, because it's all about authenticity and individual personality. Therefore, German thrash metal band Sodom made a logical decision: To ensure the most natural production possible, the drums for their new album "The Arsonist" were recorded entirely analogically with a 24-track tape machine. No studio tricks, no digital enhancements, or to quote frontman Tom Angelripper: "No plastic! The sonic difference compared to today's usual drum productions is enormous and has had a positive effect on all the instruments. Of course, the effort and costs were higher, but we're happy to pay for more quality."
But it's not just the elaborate production process that testifies to the band's extremely creative vitality, but also the diverse songwriting, in which all four Sodom musicians – Tom Angelripper (vocals, bass), Frank Blackfire (guitar), York Segatz (guitar), and Toni Merkel (drums) – contributed to 'The Arsonist'. Tom: "Frank once again provides Sodom's signature riffs and hooks, while York prefers more epic songwriting. Toni, who also plays guitar very well, perfectly complements both of them and contributed a number of songs, giving the album even more versatility."
'Trigger Discipline,' the heaviest song on 'The Arsonist,' is released today as a single and lyric video. It's all about a sniper who has completely lost control of his actions and is randomly killing people.
